The Australian Fluid Power Industry provides fundamental engineering techniques and solutions for a diverse range of industry processes. Many of which could not be achieved without this facet of engineering.
It is about the application of force, either linear or rotary, by means of a fluid or gas acting on an area under pressure.

The Fluid power industry ( including hydraulics & pneumatics ) extends across a very broad range applications into fields including

  • Agriculture
  • Automotive
  • Aviation
  • Construction
  • Defence
  • Entertainment
  • Food and beverage
  • Machine tool production
  • Mining
  • Marine
  • Petrochemical
  • Plastics
  • Transport
The industry itself provides design, manufacture and support skills utilising up to date technology and a very broad and comprehensive range of products from around the world.
In the main The Fluid power industry in Australia is distribution based with most component products sourced from the major overseas manufacturers.
Some local manufacturers produce components of a high standard however this contributes as only a small proportion of the vast products available on the market.
Most resources are applied to the utilisation of engineering skills to developed and design complete systems to meet any requirement.
The Australian Fluid Power Industry is well supported with many major manufactures maintaining distribution and warehousing facilities as well as design and consulting services.
The Industry generally serves the Australian domestic market but with a large number of significant manufacturers, the export market is giving the Australian Fluid power Industry an even brighter future.
